Platform

The first block of vanishing platforms the player encounters.

A platform is a surface that the player can stand on that is considered an entity rather than a tile. Platforms come in two types: moving platforms and disappearing platforms. Moving platforms start moving in a certain direction and change direction upon contact with a wall. Disappearing platforms will vanish 12 frames after the player touches them, respawning when the player dies or leaves the room. Both types of platforms are first encountered in Space Station 1, and can also be found in Space Station 2 and The Final Level.
