This page contains a list of levels recommended by the community for new players or those looking for notable and memorable levels to play. It will be updated occasionally as new levels are released. By default, it is sorted by date, with recent levels at the top. If there's a level you would like to see added to this, ask the staff on the VVVVVV Discord server.
| Category | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Traditional | Similar in general style to the main VVVVVV campaign. |
| Narrative | Telling a story is a large part of the level. |
| Puzzle | Puzzle solving, unique gimmicks, and challenges that require thinking. |
| Concept | Primarily conveys an idea or message, or unconventional in execution or tone. |
| Exploration | Focused around exploration and non-linear gameplay. |
| Challenge | Extraordinarily difficult. Not recommended for new players. |
| Rhythm | Based around synchronization to music. |
| Joke | Non-serious level focused on conveying humor. Low-effort or at least appearing to be. |
| Troll | Levels where the fun is being messed with or misled. Usually trial-and-error heavy. |
| Other | Has elements that don't fit into another category, or notably unique features. |
